The Door Strike is an OEM part compatible with Whirlpool front-loading washing machines. It is the metal component integrated into the washer cabinet that securely receives and holds the washing machine door shut during cycles. 

Causes of a bad door strike can include normal wear over time. Excessive force on the door or damage to strike mechanics may compromise its integrity.

Symptoms of a failed door strike include:

• Gapping at the door seam permitting water leaks and reduced cleaning 
• Inability to fully latch closed for safety-certified operation
• Loose motion, impact damage, or misaligned connecting pieces  
• Recurring errors involving the door lock mechanism
