Growing Instructions:
- Sowing Indoors: Start Spearmint seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last spring frost, or sow directly outdoors in partially shaded, moist soil.
- Planting Depth: Sow seeds only 1/8 inch deep in loose soil.
- Transplanting: Transplant seedlings when they reach about 2 inches tall.
- Harvesting: Harvest leaves once the plant reaches 12 inches in height. To encourage further growth, pick larger outside leaves while allowing the inner leaves to flourish. Young leaves and stems provide the best flavor.
- Drying: Dry mint leaves on trays or hang bunches of branches upside down in a warm, dark, well-ventilated area. Fresh leaves can also be easily frozen.
