A charcoal illustration of Paris titled, View of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, was created by Dutch artist Leo Gestel.

Gestel was born in the Netherlands in 1881 and was introduced to art by his artist father and uncle. He later studied at the Amsterdam Royal Academy for Visual Arts.

He became a leading Dutch Modernist painter but much of his work was lost in a fire at his studio in 1929.

Gestel died in the Netherlands in 1941.
