The Strelitzia grows wild in South Africa and is nicknamed the Bird of Paradise plant, as it looks like the exotic bird of the same name. It also gets called the crane plant

This fabulous plant grows up to 6 ft / 2m tall and needs bright light. It'll also grow happily outside during warm weather. But remember - it's toxic to dogs and cats - if you have a pet that likes to chew your plants.
