This is a softcover book, The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve. It is a First Back Bay paperback edition from January 2002, and it includes a reading group guide in the back. "A dazzling novel about love, forgiveness, and paths not followed." Although many people know her for The Pilot's Wife or The Weight of Water, The Last Time They Met was actually the first Anita Shreve book I ever picked up and I'd never heard of her before. That was over 20 years ago and I still remember reading it. After that she became one of those authors whose books I would just grab any time I saw them at a thrift store or garage sale. I've never been disappointed.
Here's a synopsis from the publisher: "From the last time Linda and Thomas meet, at a charmless hotel in a distant city, to the moment, thirty-five years earlier, when a chance encounter on a rocky beach binds them fatefully together, this hypnotically compelling novel unfolds a tale of intense passion, drama, and suspense. The Last Time They Met is a singularly ambitious and accomplished work by one of today's most widely celebrated novelists." (Of course this was written long before she passed away in 2018.)
Book shows a little cover wear and there's a name written inside the front. Other than that I see no issues to mention. Pages are all intact and clean, binding is tight. Asking $4.00 obo. Everything I have listed for sale is "or best offer", so feel free to make an offer.
