- Keep soil warm, evenly moist, and in the light for germination (germination occurs within 3 weeks)
- Seedlings will push up through the sand, and the third leaf will have the characteristic scalloped margin of the genus
- Pot up seedlings to successively larger pots using fast-draining mix
- Keep plants warm, in light, and water only when they begin to droop
- Grows quickly and blooms; suitable for pot culture on windowsills, summer patios, or frost-free rock gardens
- Space plants 1 foot apart if transplanting outdoors
