ABOUT COMPRESSION LEVELS:

Compression garments are rated by the amount of pressure that they apply to the skin surface in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Lower ratings provide enough pressure for comfort and some preventative properties. Higher ratings will also provide comfort but also provide more therapeutic levels of pressure needed to treat some more severe conditions.
  • 20 - 30 mmHg rated compression garments are considered light medical compression and are used by people who suffer from moderate swelling or for preventing blood clots after surgery. Garments with this rating should only be purchased on the advice of a physician or other health professional to avoid causing additional medical damage or injury.
  • 30 - 40 mmHg rated compression garments are considered medium medical compression and are chosen if you have moderate to severe edema and to combat diseases like lymphedema. Garments with this rating should only be purchased on the advice of a physician or other health professional to avoid causing additional medical damage or injury.

SIZING:

See sizing chart in the image area of this listing. Contact us if you have any questions. If you are having difficulty measuring, or are unsure of your correct compression level, please consult your physician.

HOW TO MEASURE:

To get the most accurate measurements, it is best to have a therapist, professional fitter, or friend measure your hand for you.

Index Finger: Let your fingers relax; measure the circumference of the knuckle on your index finger.

Palm: Measure the top of your palm, just under your knuckles.

IMPORTANT:

All compression garments should be replaced after six months of normal wear. They start losing their effectiveness after that time and will appear looser. You will start to lose the maximum benefits of your compression strength after this time. We recommend marking the date on the retail box they came in. You'll also have the sizing and compression class information for your next order.
