Heirloom introduced in 1883. The Golden Self Blanching Celery is the type that blanches to a yellowish gold by fall. Compact celery with thick, tender, stringless stalks blanching to yellow. It was introduced as 'Golden Self-Blanching' by the now defunct Johnson & Stokes Seed Company in 1883. Much earlier than Giant Pascal. Plants grow 25 to 30 in. tall and are stocky.
