Beautiful orange glass pieces like this always catch my eye! This is a pure orange glass with a yellow edge just on the fluted rim. I was told by experts in one of the glass groups, that this is a Kanawha piece. I don't know what Kanawha named their orange glass, so I just called it Tangerine since that's a common name for this color. There is clear rigaree on the neck of the vase and also applied to the bottom, creating a base for the vase. The exterior is smooth, but there are interior optics, which are vaguely melon-shaped. I suspect that this originally was a decanter bottle, as the inside of the neck is ground as if to fit a stopper. The stopper was not present when I found this several years ago. (It would have had to be a narrow stopper, as there is only 1 inch or less distance between the three fluted sections at the top of the vase.)
The vase is in very good condition, with only a tiny chip, about 1/8", on the inner curve between two of the fluted ruffles on the top rim. It is virtually invisible, but can be felt.
The vase is 8 inches tall, 3 inches wide across the base, and approximately 4 3/4 inches wide at the widest part of the vase. It weighs 1 pound 12 ounces.
This will be shipped by my choice of either UPS Ground Saver or USPS Ground Advantage rate (except for International). Local delivery is always available for free to a mutually agreed upon meeting place.
