This adapter cable can be used with a variety of components in various configurations. It is a bi-directional cable and can be used to adapt audio signals from different sources.

It has the standard 1/4" mono microphone type plug on one end and then splits to a set of RCA female jacks on the other. You can use just one RCA jack only if you just need to adapt a cable without splitting. 

It's great for using a component with RCA outputs that needs to be connected to a unit with only 1/4" inputs. For the quality and price you can't go wrong. It's a really great deal!
