A beautiful, authentic and restored cast iron sconce light with a cased milk glass opal globe. The sconce is the classic design, popular in the early 1900s, with an egg and dart motif on the backplate, representing birth and death. 

The finish is black, with a hand rubbed ebony wax top coat that lets the casting detail reveal itself. The back plate has the foundry mark "QC."

Other details of note: 

1. New socket UL listed for wet locations.
2. Dead black finish. After all the old paint and gunk is stripped off, the iron is wire brushed to new condition. The sconce finally given a hand rubbed wax finish and polished to a satin. 
3. New brass thumbscrews.
