Here is a charming vintage Lusterware centerpiece or flower bowl from pre-war Japan: Blue and Peach "Wild Goose Chase" Classic opalescent blue and peach glazes decorate a gaggle of geese on a wild goose hunt of their own while chasing each other around the perimeter of the bowl. Blue Swallow "Hand Painted in Japan" mark with integral raised star, possible Seiji & Company, and most likely circa 1930-40's. Amazing pristine condition. I have seen other bowls in this style, but this is by far the nicest realization of it I've encountered. 8" diameter, 4.5" tall.
WILD GOOSE LUSTERWARE
From the beginning we have always kept interesting vintage kitchenware on hand including cookbooks, knives, china, linens, slicers and dicers, pots and pans, coffee and tea pots, tableware, and all kinds of quirky and odd-ball tools to stuff in your gadget drawer!
And, I'm never surprised when a customer tells me they are buying an old kitchen tool as a gift for a young whipper-snapper who thinks they know everything! So, have a cuppa and enjoy a little browsing in my Kitchen Corner....
