1930's SMITTY The Office Boy, 2" Tall Porcelain Bisque Figure Made in Japan

Here is a rare and very cute 1930's SMITTY character doll. He is a 2" Tall Porcelain Bisque Figure Made in Japan. Nice color, no obvious chips or disfigurements.13 Year Old "Augustus Smith" (Smitty) was also known as "The Office Boy." He was a long-lived Daily Cartoon Strip Favorite created by Walter Berndt in 1922. Today he is often conflated with the venerable Gasoline Alley characters (who also had porcelain character dolls created in Japan in the same manner), but he stood on his own as a completely separate character with completely different creators.
