IRIS WILDE: CHILD'S BOOK OF FLOWERS, 1ST EDITION, 1952 COLOR LITHOGRAPH PLATES

Iris Wilde is a much Under-Appreciated Mid-Century Children's Author & Illustrator who had a very simple touch and technique that is a perfect fit for the very young reader. She also published stories that were easy to follow, yet informative and interesting. Here she presents many Beautifully Rendered Wild Flowers lithographed in both color and black and white and provides a brief, but rich, description of each.  This is an excellent reading picture book, sure to be a favorite with your flower loving child. Ex-library book with a couple of marking indicating so; it was removed from service in 1986 and cloth cover shows typical light signs of use and shelf wear. The interior pages are excellent with fine lithographed color and light age fading and some "finger staining." One face page appears to have been removed, probably with the check-out card pocket. 40 pages in a cloth hardbound in a 7" X 10" size.

Portland Pandemoniumers Love to Read

And the Quirkier, the Better

Mostly what you will find in our Book Nook Section are some of the Odd-Ball things that got published, regardless of their Quirkiness. Among these goodies you will usually find old family Bibles, High School & College Yearbooks, Oddly Illustrated Impudent Children's Books, Quaint Humorists, Instruction Manuals, Text Books, Funky Magazines, Comics, Sheet Music, Diaries, Logs, Schoolbooks, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Cookbooks, Catalogs, and such....

Of course, one of the great things about books is that they can transport you to whole new worlds you have never dreamed of where elephants hurry to catch the train, fairies appear when most needed, spells are cast, white knights come to your rescue, your aunt is on the cover, cats wear hats, scissors talk, and one pill makes you smaller......

We aways have an eclectic selection that is constantly changing, but not too much of any one thing. So, pull your chair up, have a cuppa, and do a little browsing in our Book Nook Section:
