1960 Rome Street Map Hallwag Bern Plan View with 3-D Images 3 Languages

Here is a gorgeous vintage street map of Rome from the 1960s printed in Switzerland by Hallwag of Bern. This map was most likely made for the walking tourist.  It features a strong slick cover that holds the pocket-sized folded map. The map opens fully to 29" x 22" and is printed on one side only; it has an attached index for locating both streets and attractions. The legend is printed in English, French, and German, while the map is laid out in Italian.

The map is quite beautiful unto itself. Street widths are drawn to scale, particular sights and places are drawn in three dimensional form, and open spaces, water, and built-up spaces are colored with very nice pastels. I think this map would be great for framing, used as a prop, or display piece, or maybe even just taken with you the next time you head off for a Roman Holiday.

4.25" x 5.5" when folded. Excellent condition with just a couple of small tears on the cover and on one edge of the map; see the photos.
