Vintage American Family Scale, Mid Century Model, 25 Lbs. Cream & Turquoise
Here is a beautiful vintage American Family Scale Company home kitchen scale from the early mid century era, most likely the 1940's. This scale is in excellent condition, and is dialed in and accurate. It stands 8 1/2" tall. It will weigh up to 25 pounds in one-ounce increments. It features a lovely turquoise colored dial face with deco-style numerals, a cream-colored enameled metal body, a glass dial cover, and a deco-style curvy pedestal.
American Family Scale Company was established in 1928, it was essentially a “spin-off” of Chicago’s venerable American Cutlery Company. They held a top position in the kitchen scale niche for nearly 50 years until they were eventually absorbed by Health-O-Meter.
