Original KISN 1962 Fabulous Fifty Hit Parades, 910 On Your Dial, KISN Good Guys

Where Were You In '62? Here are some 1962 Fabulous Fifty Hit Parades from the one and only KISN 910 on your AM radio dial, Portland, Oregon. A great birthday gift for that Boomer in your life! Bring back those pre-Beatles memories with some of the great songs that charted in 1962 from Elvis, Dion, Bobby Vee, The Tokens, Chubby Checker, Brenda Lee, Ray Charles, The Crystals, Patsy Cline, Del Shannon, The Four Seasons, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Pat Boone, The Fleetwoods, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, The Kingston Trio, Bobby Darin, The Shirellles, Ricky Nelson, Ray Stevens, Dee Sharpe, Clyde McPhatter, Little Eva, Freddy Cannon, Duane Eddy, Ike and Tina Turner, Toni Fisher, Neil Sedaka and many, many, more. In the 60's KISN was one of the best rock and roll stations in the Pacific Northwest and they played all this music all the time. But one thing that made KISN really great was its superlative deejays who spun the platters and spewed their patter: The Real Don Steele, Tiger Tom Murphy, Pat Pattee, Roger Hart, Ken Chase, Paul Oscar Anderson, Addie Bobkins, Peter Huntington May, Dick Saint and so forth, and so on....This particular batch of KISN Fabulous Fifty Hit Parades covers a span of time from the first week in 1962 through the last week in 1962.  Offered individually but you may purchase as many as you like.

Check them out and If you grew up during this era, you will be flooded with memories. And, I am willing to bet that you will find some songs on these lists that you never heard of (or don't remember?).  This bunch's condition is mostly pretty good and some are excellent. There is some dog-earing, pin holes, folds, fading, and occasional markings here and there. See the Photos. These are all from my personal collection and
have been saved for you at a moment like this. I have three other batches of these Fab Fifty's covering 1963, 1964, and 1965 in my store. (And, if you are looking for The Real Don Steele, that's where he's at.)

I entered College in 1965 and it doesn't get any more "Sixties" than that.  As today is the era of technology and instant connection, the 60's were an era of social consciousness and mind expansion. Interestingly, when asked which era people would like to relive the 60's Summer of Love is the most popular destination. But, it's not coming back, and it doesn't have to, because it already thoroughly informs and drives the culture we live in today! So, just remember the next time you are tempted to say "Okay, Boomer..." to someone who looks old that the 60's were our gift to all you wanna-be hippies and hipsters out there! And, if you'd like some relics and artifacts from that very busy decade you will always find some right here at Portland Pandemonium's The 60's Were Groovy Shop:
