All three tapes play great, the Classic cassette is nice and clean. The Hammer version cassette has store branded security stickers on the spine and both endcaps. The Universal remake has store branded security stickers on both endcaps.
All the boxes are nice except their is a tiny liner lift on the Classic top left spine, couple of light scores on the Hammer cover with a sticker shadow on the upper right corner and the Universal remake one has a tiny liner lift on the lower right corner.
MUMMY (1932) A group of scientists examine a sarcaphogus taken from an unmarked grave at an archeological dig in 1921 Egypt. There is a warning on the box that it should not be opened. Does this stop anyone? Of course not! So Im-Ho-Tep (Boris Karloff), a 4000-year-old priest who was disgraced and buried alive, is now revived.
Then, of course, there's his objective--heroine Helen whom the wrapped one believes is the reincarnation of his long-gone love Anck-es-en-Amon. Eerie chills mark this classic horror tale that found Karloff undergoing eight hours of extraordinairy makeup (by Jack Pierce) to transform him into the macabre mummy. First in the Universal series.
MUMMY (1959) A group of British archeologists discover they have made a grave mistake when a mummy kills off those who have violated his princess' tomb. A summation of all the previous 'Mummy' films this one has a more frightening mummy (6'4" Cristopher Lee) who is on screen much of the time. Additionally, there is pity in this monster, not merely murder and revenge. An effective remake of the 1932 Classic.
MUMMY (1999) Cheesy fun in the matinee tradition, this horror tale is a loose remake of the 1932 Boris Karloff one. In the 1920s, American adventurer Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) is hired by British librarian Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) and her Egyptologist brother Jonathan to escort them to the ancient city of the dead.
Unfortunately, their meddling results in the release of cursed mummified priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), who manages to regenerate into living flesh and who wants to use Evelyn to resurrect his dead girlfriend. Lots of zombies, mummies, skeletons, flesh-eating beetles and spooky booby-trapped tombs.
