True Art nouveau silver plated pair of amphora vases made by the famous WMF company in Germany fully signed with the running ostrich with a tiny WMF at the bottom, 1/0 for the silver thickness and the letter F which made idicate that they were made for the French marked c, 1903-1909.
The WMF silver-plated production made in around 1900-1910 is extremely popular among antiques collectors. This is because these tableware and household items are considered as the best samples of Art Nouveau style, which is also known as Jugendstil in Germany and Secession in Austro-Hungary.
Beautiful design on the top part with a laurel pattern on the edge, and typical ArtNouveau curved foliage pattern on the center on both sides.
Dimensions:10 1/2", 26.67cm tall, the base has a diameter of 2 3/4",6.98cm , 3 1/2", 8.89cm wide at the top from handle to handle.
Condition:The top opening on both vases are bend out of shape, one vase has a bend handle and 2 "dings"one near the foot the other on the top wide side. No loss of plating no repairs.
Having said that the vases are over 100 years old and highly collectible. My price reflects the condition.
