Fancy, Aesthetic Kitchen Scale Designed by Marco Zanuso for Terraillon in the 1970s
This vintage scale, crafted from yellow plastic with a brown plexiglass hood, is a striking piece of design from the 1970s. A similar model by Zanuso is displayed at the Deutsches Kunststoff Museum.
The scale can measure weights from 200g to 4000g, using two bowls—a large one that doubles as a protective hood and a smaller one for precise measurements. It was originally designed by Monsieur Zanuso specifically for the German market.
You can easily tare the scale, or subtract the tare weight, using the small yellow switch on the left side.
The scale is still fully operational and works excellently with both containers. It’s in excellent condition, with only minor surface wear, and has no cracks or missing parts.
