This exquisite McKee Glass Co. Brilliant Cut Crystal bowl from their Innovation line is cut #410, in the pattern known as "Bud", and believed to have been produced from 1916 until the early 1920s. It is a true antique, over 100 years old. It has a cut cane pattern around the top & bottom, separated by a frieze of delicately wheel-cut flowers. The toothed rim has a few chips on the edge, as indicated by the price. The bowl is heavy, 3 1/2 lbs, with a fine crystal ring when you thump the edge. The measurements are 3.5 in. height x 7.5in. diameter. It glows under UV light, I believe it is manganese.
During the American Flower Period, which followed after the American Brilliant Period, patterns with natural designs such as plants, butterflies, birds and flowers dominated cut crystal design.
