Here are some tips for growing raspberries from seed:
When to start
Start seeds indoors in early spring or in a greenhouse. You can also prepare seeds in January for cold stratification.
Soil
Use a high-quality seed-starting mix that's slightly acidic and a good balance of peat moss, vermiculite, and perlite. If the soil is too alkaline, you can add lime.
Sowing
Lightly rake the soil and sow seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep, at least 3 centimeters apart. Lightly cover the seeds with soil or sand.
Germination
Keep the soil moist but not saturated, and maintain a consistent temperature of around 70°F (21°C) to encourage germination. If you're cold stratifying the seeds, store them in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks.
