Unique Early1940s Sadler Hand Painted Cobalt Blue & Gold Antique Teapot This is lovely vintage English Sadler china 6 footed teapot. The background is Cream With a heavy cobalt blue, rusty pinkish dogwood style flowers. The handle and base is covered in gold as you can see with a lot of gold decoration all over. I believe the pattern is called a puzzle pattern, simply because the gold over the teapot is shaped like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. There some wear on the gild especially on the thump area on the handle, there is a some loss of gild on the inner rim covered under the lid. The lid sits absolutely firmly on top. Underneath are the words "Sadler. Made in England" with the number 1624 written in gold. A great teapot for a collector. Measures 9 1/4" handle to spout 5 1/2" wide and 6" high
Item is in Amazing Vintage Condition--may have small scuffs, some crazing etc., as is expected with vintage ceramics
