SIGNIFICANCE:  
This day was Andy Roddick's final US Open singles match of his long successful career.    
On this day he lost to Juan Martin del Potro in 4 sets. Previously Andy had won the US Open in 2003.  
He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in July 2017
