The V-Belt is an OEM replacement part for GE-brand clothes dryers. Located between the electric motor and rotating drum, this toothed rubber belt transmits motor torque to spin wet laundry loads.

Causes of a potentially problematic V-belt include drying and cracking from extended heat and mechanical friction. Built-up particulate residue from dryer lint can also degrade belt integrity over time.

Symptoms of a faulty V-belt include:

• Squealing, slipping, or loose fit on pulleys
• Slowed or lack of laundry drum rotation
• Premature ending of dryer cycles
