The Whales Eye shell belongs to the Moon Shell family and are found worldwide.  Most in the tropics but a few have even been found in the Arctic.  They have a half moon aperture and the shell is hard and spherical shaped.  Moon Shells are carnivorous, spending most of their lives digging through sand searching for and eating smaller clams and snails.  They drill a hole in its prey and eats the molluscan alive.  There are more than 100 species in the Moon Shell family.  Stop in and visit our e-store for many more great choices.
