This is an oil on wood panel of a nightscape of a city with lights glinting on the water, 11 1/4" x 21 3/4" panel size, signed and dated at lower right "Whistler 1860."  There is a red wax seal on the back of the panel with an unknown coat of arms.  It is mounted in a heavy gilt gesso frame with small bits of missing gesso at 2 corners. The outside dimensions are 17 3/4" x 28 1/4". The painting itself is in vey good condition.
