Pictured here only one year after the release of his debut album 'The Voice of Frank Sinatra,' this image of one of the most iconic entertainers of the twentieth century, Frank Sinatra, remains an enduring tribute to the early years of his career, which would take him to the height of fame in numerous mediums and see him sell more than one hundred and fifty million records throughout his career both as a solo act and as part of the so-called Rat Pack. Sinatra also launched a successful career as a film actor in the 1960s that continued for years.
Sinatra also launched a television series only three years after this photograph was taken and would appear on television for the following two decades, cementing his place in the pantheon of American popular culture. In 1985, Sinatra received the Presidential Medal of Honor and was also awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1997, in addition to being named by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people of the twentieth century.
