It is the eve of WWII, Europe is bracing itself for a German invasion with the League of Nations in crisis talks. One of the top ranking officials, the handsome, seductive Solal (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), refuses to let the threat of war interfere with his current new passion, the wife of a well-known aristocrat, the beautiful Ariane.
