NRL PREMIERS 2018 SUNDAY 30 SEPTEMBER, 2018
The Sydney Roosters team have proved themselves to be worthy Premiers in 2018. Carrying the hopes of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs on their shoulders, the Tri-colours iron-willed determination to make amends has paid off handsomely with Trent Robinson's men finishing the season with the Provan-Summons Trophy returning to the Rooster's trophy cabinet for the fourteenth time following their defeat of Melbourne Storm.

Already possessing a formidable forward pack of Isaac Liu, Boyd Cordner, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dylan Napa, and hooker Jake Friend, the Roosters recruited the proven talent of Cooper Cronk and James Tedesco to add to a dangerous backline that included young gun Latrell Mitchell, Luke Keary and Blake Ferguson. Despite a slow start to the 2018 season, the Roosters quickly found midseason form to ascend to the top of the ladder. However, late-season losses to Canberra and Brisbane meant the Roosters required a dominant final round victory over Parramatta to snatch the minor premiership on points difference, Robinson's fourth minor premiership in his six years at the Eastern Suburbs club. In a home Qualifying Final against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, the Rooster's delivered a decisive victory to secure a Preliminary Final berth. Facing South Sydney Rabbitohs at Allianz Stadium, the Roosters once again dug deep to inflict defeat upon their arch-rivals.

In front of a packed house at Sydney's ANZ Stadium, the Grand Final produced the narrative twist that only sport can provide as Cooper Cronk faced his old club Melbourne Storm, for a shot at Premiership glory. But the Roosters would not be denied, surging to victory and sparking celebrations across their Eastern Suburbs heartland that the club and their fans will remember for years to come!
