Leucaena leucocephala is an edible and medicinal tropical, nitrogen-fixing legume. The wood makes for great charcoal and the growth rate is fast (Unchopped, can grow 20 ft in 2 years with a wide spread). This makes wild tamarind an excellent choice for a biomass plant or green manure plant.

The white flowers resemble the look of the yellow mimosa in a white form.

Once established, little maintenance is required aside from chopping them from time to time (should you wish to keep them as a short plant). Otherwise they will grow into a lovely shade tree.
