The door bears a bullet hole where a shot was fired during the mob attack that resulted in the martyrdom of Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum on June 27, 1844. The photograph is by Larry W. Turner and is part of the Nauvoo Restoration Incorporated collection.
