Notre-Dame de Paris - Luc-Olivier Merson - Art Poster Print 12 x 18 in

This fabulous pen and ink wash drawing, Notre-Dame de Paris was drawn in 1881 by artist Luc-Olivier Merson.

Merson was born in Paris in 1846, and was known for his intricate currency and postage stamp designs.   For a time he worked for the French and Monaco postal services.

This drawing of Victor Hugo's fictional character, Quasimodo, was done by Luc-Olivier Merson in tribute to Hugo's Gothic novel.

Hugo's famous 1831 medieval novel told the story of Quasimodo, a disfigured orphan raised by the archdeacon of the cathedral.

Luc-Olivier Merson died in November 1920.
