Vintage Hand Painted Chinese DRAGON WARE Moriage Teapot Dragon & Immortals

Hand-painted with exquisite attention to detail, this beautiful teapot features 2 dragons, one of which forms the handle and spout, and the other dragon's head forms the finial on the lid, with its body running down tthe side in raised relief. Beneath the dragon are three immortals or wise men/scholars, a typical motif of Asian art. The tea pot is completed with polychrome and hand slip glaze enameling, achieving relief through it. The bright and elegant colors are enhanced with plenty of gold accents.

The dragon is a mythological being,with deep roots in oriental culture, a symbol of power, nobility and honor.
