This vintage postcard features a collector's card of Pat Garrett (1850-1908), known for hunting and killing Billy the Kid. Garrett, originally from Louisiana, worked as a buffalo hunter and horse wrangler in New Mexico. As the sheriff of Lincoln County, he faced criticism for his actions. Garrett was shot and killed at age 58 without a marker on his grave. The artwork is part of a series by Lea McCarty.
