If your Sony PSP-1000 series is giving the following problems when loading from the laser drive you probably need to replace the laser assembly:

· disc read errors

· slow loading times

· failure to read disc

· screen freezes when playing a game or watching a DVD movie

 

No installation instructions included although there are many tutorials and videos available. Does NOT work with a PSP 2000/3000/E1000 series system. If your system still doesn’t read games after installing this, then you have an issue with your motherboard (it could be an issue with your umd activator switches or a firmware issue). A technician or professional installation is highly advised as these are not returnable. Note that there is an anti-static solder point which needs to be removed prior to installing this laser in DVD drive. I will perform that before shipping as a certain amount of soldering expertise is required.
