Antique GIBSON GIRL Wood Burned Velour Velvet Fabric Art Painting, velour was manufactured by A W B Boulevard company. It made clothing - furs, velour coats and the like. I do not know if the image was created by them or if someone burned the image on their fabric. You can feel the texture from the burning so it is not something that was painted on or a recreation. Since as long as I can remember this fabric swatch has been floating around inside an old family trunk. It is presumed to have belonged to my Great Grandmother but could have been done by one of her 3 children. It is stained here and there but is so cool. I've never quite known what to do with it. But would make a pretty wall hanging or pillow or the like. It can date from the early 1900's to the 1940's. One of a kind find! ENJOY! The background is a light tan in coloring. Large at roughly 18" x 18".
