A hybrid of 4 wildflower daisies with large 3" white blooms with yellow centers. They were bred and developed by Luther Burbank in the early 1900's. Named after the white snowcapped Mount Shasta in California. Shasta Daisy's will grow in all regions of North America. Easy to establish from seed. They grow slowly the first year developing a deep root system. The second year and beyond they will bloom profusely from early summer to fall. The big flowers will attract loads of butterflies and bees. They like full sun and well-drained soil but will grow just about anywhere that's not too soggy. To prolong the blooms, pick off flowers as they fade. To prevent overcrowding, divide the plants after 3 or 4 years of flowering. These perennials have a long-life span 10+yrs.
