ABOUT THE ITEM


The picture of this gorgeous silver set doe not tell its lovely story. Made by the esteemed firm Asprey of London this was made to commemorate the crowning or George the VI as king of England .

His older brother Edward VIII was crowned King but in less than 1 year abdicated his throne for marriage to Wallis Simpson. On March 12 1937,  Prince Albert took the name of his father and became George VI, his duaghter Queen Elizabeth now rules.

Has the English sterling marks as well as the mark of Aprey, London
