Epaderm creates a barrier that helps retain moisture in the skin. It is very versatile. Using Epaderm ointment as a skin cleanser: When taking care of dry skin, it is important to moisturize it and prevent the skin from losing moisture again. The use of Epaderm ointment as a skin cleanser ensures proper washing of dry skin, without drying it excessively and without causing such problems as substances added to ordinary soap tend to cause. Take a small amount from the package, lather it under a stream of warm water and use as normal soap.
Using Epaderm ointment in the bath: Saturation of the skin with an emollient to restore the ideal skin moisture level is another step of a complete emollient therapy. Since Epaderm ointment does not contain fragrances, dyes, sodium lauryl sulfate (NLS) or preservatives, it can be added to the bath as often as needed. Take 4 g of ointment from the package. Dissolve it in a bowl of warm water. Do not use hot water directly on the skin. When using Epaderm ointment as a bath additive, be careful that it can make the bath surface slippery. Required minimum doses for adults:
Face, ears, neck - 1 dose twice a day.
Hands, back - 2 doses twice a day.
Legs - 4 doses twice a day.
Palms - ½ dose twice a day.
Genital organs - ½ dose twice a day.
Children under ten years of age need half of the above doses.
