no dust jacket.
Tipped into the page facing the title-page is a vintage
photo of the doorway to Aldrich's home in Boston.
The poet's drama of
the tragic love between a French soldier and a Spanish peasant, set in
1810; in the revised version, as performed at Palmer's Theatre with
Maurice Barrymore and Julia Arthur.
The play was first published in The
