1940s Belgian Master Andre Mahieu (1904-1979) Oil Painting on canvas. Antwerp- Bruges Belgium. Fishing harbour of Zeebrugge. Sailboats port.

Signed and dated lower right corner.

Just a small restored circular light crack of the canvas in the middle of the right border and spots of dirt. Painting needs to be cleaned. Sold with its wooden frame that shows some signs of the age. The frame is provided for free as is.

Painter Andre Mahieu was born in 1904 in Roeselare (Belgium) and died in 1979 in Brugge (Belgium).
He was famous for his landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes of the Belgian coast. Mahieu traveled to Congo when the country was a Belgian colony and he became very known for his colonial paintings of landscapes of Congo and local portraits.
