About The Record:

Film and recording star Doris Day has a remarkably personal style. On records as in films, she is a singer with uncommon magnetism and charm, able to make listeners share her joy in making music. These qualities can be heard in this anthology of Doris Day's recordings, and they provide and exceptional program of music, mood – and magic.Doris Day was an American actress, singer, and activist. She began her career as a big band singer in 1939, achieving commercial success in 1945 with two No. 1 recordings, Sentimental Journey and My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time with Les Brown & His Band of Renown. She left Brown to embark on a solo career and recorded more than 650 songs from 1947 to 1967. Although not a musical, the film Lover Come Back contains two songs sung by Day: Lover Come Back during the opening credits, and Should I Surrender as she contemplates what to do with her feelings for Jerry.
