This is an actual original ET plush toy from 1982 used in the production of the movie Big Fat Liar in the year 2002,
The piece is around 20cm (8 inches) high,
It was used in the E.T. toys and plush scene you see in the pictures, They used a lot of different ET's for this scene. I can't find this piece on the screen so it's probably sits behind the others in the scene.
