A Gobbler's rubber knife used in the used in the movie adaptation of Philip Pullman’s classic fantasy story the Golden Compass. The henchmen of the “General Oblation Board” (dubbed “Gobblers” by the local children) can be seen with knives such as this when tracking down Lyra (Dakota Blue Richards) after her escape from the cruel Mrs Coulter (Nicole Kidman). Made from a rigid soft foam rubber than ensured no accidents occurred during the rough action on set, the knife has a blade section painted metallic grey with a pale brown handle to represent what looks like bone. Measuring approximately 28cm x 4cm (11” x 1.5”) the piece is in a good and lightly used condition.
