2 movies, action double feature on blu-ray, brand new and factory sealed. Both films are Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being produced.
REPLACEMENT KILLERS (extended unrated cut): Hong Kong action star Chow Yun-Fat makes his American film debut here. He stars as John Lee, an assassin working for crime boss Mr. Wei. When Lee decides not to carry out a hit on a cop's (Michael Rooker) son, he becomes the target of the men sent to replace him.
Needing a passport to get back to China, Lee goes to forger Meg Coburn (Mira Sorvino). Before she can finish the papers, Wei's men begin the first of many high body count gun battles. First time director Antoine Fuqua, who was heavily influenced by John Woo (film's exec producer), does a passable job of conveying the style of Chow & Woo's Hong Kong work.
TRUTH or CONSEQUENCES N.M.: Yes, the name of the town is real. Dim parolee Raymond and his even dimmer girlfriend Addy are reunited and just want to settle down, to tell the truth. Instead, they fall immediately back into a life of crime. Along with their accomplices Marcus and Curtis (Kiefer Sutherland), they plan to rip off a drug dealer for big bucks.
The heist, of course, goes bad; they steal an RV and kidnaps its owners Gordon (Kevin Pollack) and Donna. An attempt to unload the drugs on a powerful Mafia boss (Rod Steiger) also goes awry, and that starts a real family feud. As the mob hit man (Martin Sheen), the cops, and the crooks all converge on the eponymous New Mexico town, everyone is in jeopordy.
Directorial debut for Sutherland.
