The Screen is an OEM replacement compatible with Whirlpool dryers. Located inside the air exhaust duct, it safely captures and contains stray lint before it escapes the dryer cabinet and ventilation system. 

The dual-layer screen traps built-up lint clumps during drying cycles through its precisely laid meshing. This prevents potentially dangerous lint accumulation elsewhere over time from multiple loads of laundry.

Symptoms of a clogged or damaged screen include:

• Reduced airflow exiting through vent connections
• Overheating issues inside the dryer as vents get blocked  
• Lint visible inside ductwork or on surrounding surfaces 

Replacing it ensures efficient drying performance and ventilation for the long haul. This OEM screen also fits some Maytag, KitchenAid, and Kenmore dryers.
