Leon Fontier Pewter Hobnail Vase Signed 1993 10 1/2"
Leon Fontier has been producing pewter ware since 1985. The pieces are made from lead-free pewter using a variety of pewter smithing techniques including spinning, fabrication and casting. Fontier was born in the Congo, educated in Belgium and then moved to central New York in 1972. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Yale University Art Gallery, the White House, as well as many private collections. He has won awards at the Winterpark Art Festival in Florida, the Bruce Museum Craft Festival in Connecticut and the 1999 William F. Kayhoe Award for Functional Metal.
Measures 5" base diameter, 1 3/4" top diameter and 10 1/2" tall.
