Tried many floaties but my child was always scared. This gives her a much more secure feeling in the water with way more stability and range of motion. She uses it at the pool and beach and is getting so much more confident in the water because of it. Was actually recommended to us at the beach by another parent whoโ€™s child was using it.

This swim vest is great for toddlers and younger kids. The waist belt and bicep positions of the foam inserts are much better for them to be able to move around and play than the inflatable swimmers I had as a kid that just left us floating around by our arms with our heads just above the water. The additional buoyancy around the waist enables kids to actually get their body higher in the water, and that makes it more useful when you are trying to teach a child how to swim, especially if they are nervous about it. It lets them get almost completely into the right posture/angle to swim while also giving them an extra layer of security for the first few "solo" attempts before they take off under their own power.
