Stadler Staffordshire England A Midsummer Nights Dream #444 Shakespeare Teapot
Approximately 6-1/2" to top of lid and 7-5/8" wide handle to spout.
A fine example of Sadler china, in this teapot from their William Shakespeare range. It depicts a scene from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and would make the perfect addition to any tea time, afternoon tea, or to a collector’s display!
The teapot and lid are fashioned in a highly polished, shiny white glaze. The Shakespearean scene, of Titania cradling Bottom, in his ass’s head, is depicted on both sides of the teapot, enclosed within swags of curtains in blue. It features the words “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” above the scene and Shakespeare’s dates below. The lid is decorated with ornate swags of blue and gold, as is the top finial. On the base of the pot is the famous scene’s quote, as photographed.
Both the pot and lid are in very good condition - no damage.
The teapot stands approx 6-1/2" tall to top of lid. It measures about 7-5/8" from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle. The pot has a capacity of 500 ml, or nearly one pint.
